The difference between 12B chain and 12A chain

1. Different formats

The difference between the 12B chain and the 12A chain is that the B series is imperial and conforms to European (mainly British) specifications and is generally used in European countries; the A series means metric and conforms to the size specifications of American chain standards and is generally used in the United States and Japan. and other countries.

2. Different sizes

The pitch of the two chains is 19.05MM, and the other sizes are different. The unit of value (MM):

12B chain parameters: the diameter of the roller is 12.07MM, the inner width of the inner section is 11.68MM, the diameter of the pin shaft is 5.72MM, and the thickness of the chain plate is 1.88MM;
12A chain parameters: the diameter of the roller is 11.91MM, the inner width of the inner section is 12.57MM, the diameter of the pin shaft is 5.94MM, and the thickness of the chain plate is 2.04MM.

3. Different specification requirements

The chains of the A series have a certain proportion to the rollers and pins, the thickness of the inner chain plate and the outer chain plate are equal, and the equal strength effect of the static strength is obtained through different adjustments. However, there is no obvious ratio between the main size and pitch of the B series parts. Except for the 12B specification that is lower than the A series, the other specifications of the B series are the same as the A series products.
