How often should a motorcycle chain be replaced?

How to replace a motorcycle chain:

1. The chain is excessively worn and the distance between the two teeth is not within the normal size range, so it should be replaced;

2. If many sections of the chain have been seriously damaged and cannot be partially repaired, the chain should be replaced with a new one. Generally speaking, if the lubrication system is good, the timing chain is not easy to wear.

Even with a small amount of wear, the tensioner installed on the engine will hold the chain tight. So don’t worry. Only when the lubrication system is faulty and the chain accessories exceed the service limit will the chain loosen. After the timing chain is used for a long time, it will lengthen to varying degrees and make annoying noises. At this time, the timing chain must be tightened. When the tensioner is tightened to the limit, the timing chain must be replaced with a new one.
